Henry Ebert first opened Ebert Studio’s doors in 1915. The Studio was originally located in Chicago at the intersection of Pulaski and Madison Streets.
After completing high school in 1930, Henry’s son Will joined the studio. Soon after, he earned the distinction of Master Photographer, and quickly became known as “Chicago’s Leading West Side Photographer”.
In 1960, Will’s son Bob took over and moved the Studio to Oak Park, at the corner of Lake and Austin. Bob moved the studio to it’s present location at 227 South Marion Street, in Oak Park, in 1980. That same year he was awarded with a Master of Photography degree.
In 1991, upon receiving degrees in Art and Psychology, Bob’s son, Jeff joined the family business with the same dedication and commitment to excellence. He is an accomplished professional photographer specializing in in portraiture. Born into a family of fine photographers, he learned the craft entirely from his father. Jeff is the fourth generation in a line of professional Ebert photographers.
Jeff owns and operates Ebert Studio, following Bob’s retirement at the end of 2005. Jeff is the premier portrait and wedding photographer serving the Chicagoland area and beyond. With over 15 years of professional photography experience, he offers a unique and incomparable fusion of the traditional and contemporary to create unforgettable images.
His work has appeared in various publications such as “Distinction: The Southern California Lifestyle”, “Your Day, Your Way: The Essential Handbook for the 21st Century Bride”, Time Out Chicago, Chicago Reader, and various corporate materials. Jeff’s work has also been honored by Professional Photographers of America and Wedding and Portrait Photographers International.
A partial list of Jeff’s portrait subjects include Cardinal Francis George, radio personality Paul Harvey, Bulls’ legends Norm VanLeer and Jim Clemens, Walter Payton, and “Harry Potter” director Christopher Columbus.
Jeff has been involved with the arts since grade school when his mom held “Arts and Crafts” night at his home every Wednesday night. It was only a matter of time before his dad would get a hold of him teaching him every trick of the portrait photography trade. Graduating from the University of Wisconsin with degrees in Graphic Design and Psychology there couldn’t have been a better match for Jeff’s career as a fourth generation portrait photographer.
